Retirees should soon be receiving in the mail a hard copy of the Special FY2022 Budget Edition of Retiree Matters newsletter. This edition includes proposed changes to retiree benefits and costs. Click here to read the digital version.
Below is a brief summary of the proposed changes:
ALL RETIREES
- 1% ad hoc Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) proposed for January 2022
POST-65 (MEDICARE) RETIREES
- Medicare Advantage Standard PPO and Enhanced PPO plans will provide the same coverage
- Retirees will see an increase in premiums – see newsletter for details
- All Medicare Advantage enrollees will receive a new ID card for 2022
PRE-65 (NON-MEDICARE) RETIREES
- Three plan options with the same coverage will continue to be offered
- No changes in monthly premiums proposed
ANNUAL ENROLLMENT
- Will take place for pre-65 retirees from October 11 to 31, 2021
- Will take place for post-65 retirees from October 18 to 29, 2021
- More information will be provided in the next issue of Retiree Matters
- In the coming weeks, Medicare-eligible retirees will receive information directly from Aetna, and non-Medicare retirees will receive information from the City
- If you do not wish to make any changes to your current medical or dental plans, you will not need to do anything and your coverage will continue (roll over) to 2022
