IN MEMORY OF GENE CAMARGO, RECOSA’S FOUNDING CHAIR

Gene Camargo passed away on May 11, 2021. Gene was a founding member of the Retired Employees of the City of San Antonio (RECOSA) and served as our Founding Chair and as an Ex Officio member from the organization’s inception. He was an active and valuable board member and a strong force in organizing RECOSA as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Gene began his career at the City of San Antonio in 1963 as a draftsman and rose to become the Director of Building Inspections before retiring in 1999. He loved his City family and kept in touch with many of those he’d worked with over the years. He loved to see his fellow retirees at RECOSA events and worked tirelessly to represent their interests with the City of San Antonio.

The RECOSA Board will greatly miss his keen insight and warm friendship. Many of his City friends attended the May 14th funeral service to honor the memory and service of Gene Camargo.
