The RECOSA Board is actively seeking members to serve on our board for a two-year term, Jan. 1, 2027 – Dec. 31, 2028. We are accepting Statements of Interest from City of San Antonio (COSA) civilian retirees through Tue., Sep. 15, 2026.
RECOSA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is led by a small, all-volunteer board whose mission is to communicate with and advocate for COSA civilian retirees regarding healthcare and other retiree benefits. The entire RECOSA Mission Statement can be read by clicking here.
We welcome all applicants, but we particularly need retirees with skill sets that include communications/marketing/public relations, legal, financial, IT, and research skills. Don’t have these specific skills? That doesn’t mean we don’t need you as we know everyone brings their own unique talents to the table. The willingness to serve our members carries a huge value.
Other helpful attributes include strong organizational and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to multitask, work with limited resources, and be flexible. The board utilizes email, text messaging, video conferencing, and other technology to communicate with members and to conduct virtual and in-person meetings.
Statements of Interest should be emailed no later than Tue., Sep. 15, 2026 to info@recosa.org with the subject line “Nominating Committee”. Statements of Interest should include:
- your name and contact information (incl. email address, mobile phone number, and home address);
- background information (i.e. education, experience, expertise);
- any particular skill sets, as described above; and
- your ability and commitment to attend meetings and perform other duties.
A nominating committee will review Statements of Interest and select individuals or a slate of candidates for an online election to be conducted Oct. 1-31, 2026, at recosa.org. The results of the election will be announced at the Annual Membership Meeting/Brown Bag on Fri., Nov. 20, 2026.
If you have any questions, please email us at info@recosa.org.
