RECOSA is now accepting Statements of Interest from City of San Antonio (COSA) civilian retirees wishing to serve on its board of directors for a two-year term, Jan. 1, 2025 – Dec. 31, 2026.
The RECOSA board is a small, all-volunteer, working board whose mission is to: communicate with and advocate for COSA civilian retirees and other stakeholders regarding healthcare and other retiree benefits; act responsibly to preserve and expand retiree benefits; organize and promote activities for members; and, support and improve member quality of life. With a working board the skill set for board members includes: organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; computer literacy; financial skills; multitasking; flexibility; and the ability to work with limited resources. The board utilizes email, text messaging, video conferencing, and other technology to conduct virtual and in-person meetings.
Statements of Interest should be emailed to info@recosa.org with subject line “Nominating Committee” no later than Sun., Sep. 15, 2024. Statements of Interest must include your:
1) name and contact information (incl. email address, mobile phone number, and home address)
2) background (i.e. education, experience, expertise)
3) skill set, as described above
4) ability and commitment to attend meetings and perform other duties
A nominating committee will review Statements of Interest and select individuals or a slate of candidates for an online election to be conducted Oct. 1-31, 2024 at recosa.org. The nominating committee is comprised of Stephen Haney (board member and committee chair), Steve De La Haya (board member), and Becky Waldman (ex-officio board member). The results of the election will be announced at the Annual Membership Meeting/Brown Bag on Fri., Nov. 15, 2024.
