Recap of 11/18 Meeting

RECOSA’s Annual Membership Meeting & Brown Bag session was held Friday, November 18 at the Pre-K 4 SA East Education Center on Eisenhauer Rd.

The RECOSA board thanks City of San Antonio Human Resources staff, Pre-K 4 SA East staff and their facility, Generations Federal Credit Union, and the many people and organizations that donated door prizes, for all their support in producing a successful event.

There were 55 retirees in attendance who enjoyed a delicious box lunch prepared by W.D. Deli – a local business – thanks to the generous financial support of Generations Federal Credit Union.

Family of Rose Rangel, former RECOSA chair and board member, who passed away in November 2021, was recognized for her invaluable contributions to RECOSA over the years.

The results of the 2022 RECOSA survey were presented, and a small-group exercise identified and prioritized future Brown Bag topics and quality of life activities. Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of all, RECOSA garnered important insights and will be summarizing the results in the forthcoming annual report.

Attendees were briefed on RECOSA’s coordination with Human Resources throughout the past year, board outreach efforts, online enhancements, and finances.

An election was held to fill a board vacancy and other board positions for 2023-2024. Congratulations to the new board members that were elected: Lewis Andrews, Nora Chavez, and Salvador Garza, as well as the incumbents that were re-elected: Diana Alcocer, Martha Sepeda, and Michael Trainer.

Both Liz Garcia and David Lopez, whose terms end December 31, were presented certificates of appreciation for all their time and efforts on the board.

Finally, many great door prizes, including gift cards and merchandise, were awarded to lucky attendees. A list of the door prizes and donors may be viewed HERE.

More information about the Annual Meeting & Brown Bag session, 2022 survey results, and other RECOSA highlights from the past year, will be forthcoming in the 2022 RECOSA Annual Report.

RECOSA wishes you a joyous and safe holiday season, and the very best for the new year.
