Quarterly Brown Bag Session

Our June Brown Bag will focus on Health and Wellness. Attendees can visit with information table representatives hosted by a variety of organizations offering information resources and demonstrations. The event will also include two brief presentations with updates on the City’s Senior Centers and Metro Health topics such as emergency preparedness, nutrition, and other important wellness information.
There will be the following two (2) presentations:

- City-wide programming at all senior centers
City of San Antonio Metropolitan Health District
- Diabetes programming on prevention and management
- Nutrition
- Emergency Preparedness – what to have ready at home in case of an emergency
There will also be the following tables with information, demonstrations and blood pressure checks:

- Hands-only CPR demonstrations

Methodist Healthcare

- Nutrition information
YMCA
- Exercise programs and discounts
- Mental health programming and information

Light snacks and water will be provided by the City of San Antonio’s Human Resources Dept. Attendees may bring their own lunch (note: no kitchen or equipment will be available to make or heat your lunch, so please plan accordingly).

PARKING
- FREE parking (up to 3 hours with validation) is available in COSA’s Central Library Garage
- The garage is located immediately adjacent (south) of the Central Library
- The entrance to the garage is located on Soledad St.
- Parking tickets must be validated at the library’s Information Desk, located near the public computer area
- Parking ticket validation is a self-serve process and takes only a few seconds (library staff will be available to assist if necessary)
- Garage parking is a flat daily rate of $5.00 (if you park longer than the 3 hours of free parking and/or don’t get your parking validated)
- If paying for parking, only debit/credit cards are accepted (no cash or checks)
