2025 Retiree Benefits Guide

2025 Retiree Annual Enrollment & Info Sessions

Following is information regarding the retiree enrollment periods and information sessions.

Enrollment Period: Nov. 4 – Nov. 15

Info Sessions: Aetna and Employee Benefits are teaming up to bring two (2) information sessions to you as follows. During these sessions, you will get more details about the 2024 Aetna Medicare Advantage Plans. The same information will be presented during each meeting.

Info Session: An online information session will be hosted by the Employee Benefits team via WebEx as follows. The WebEx will feature a presentation and an opportunity for you to ask questions. This WebEx will also be recorded and posted on the HR website at sanantonio.gov/EmployeeInformation/RetiredEmployees.

    If you do NOT wish to make changes to your current medical, dental or vision plans, you do NOT need to do anything – your coverage will continue (roll over) to 2025. If you do NOT have vision or dental insurance and would like coverage in 2025, you must enroll during the applicable enrollment period above.

      • No change in Medicare Advantage plans offered through Aetna – Standard PPO, Enhanced PPO, and Pharmacy-Only
      • $2.48 increase in premiums for Pharmacy-Only plan
      • No other premium increases
      • Annual enrollment Nov. 4 – Nov. 15
    • Pre-65 (Non-Medicare) Retirees
      • No change in medical plans offered through Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Texas – Consumer Choice, New Value, and Blue Essentials HMO
      • No premium increases

    Dental & Vision

    • Vision Service Plan (VSP) will continue to offer vision coverage
    • Humana will continue to offer dental coverage

      Nov. 15 Annual Meeting

      RECOSA invites you to join us for our 2024 Annual Membership Meeting & Brown Bag Session on Fri., Nov. 15 @ 11:30 a.m. at the San Antonio Central Library Auditorium, located at 600 Soledad St.

      Lori Houston, City of San Antonio Assistant City Manager, will be our our guest speaker to discuss many of the exciting projects occurring downtown. A box lunch will be provided, courtesy of Generations Federal Credit Union, and there will be door prizes including two (2) tickets and parking pass to the Dec. 31 San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Angeles Clippers game, compliments of RECOSA Secretary Diana Alcocer. (NOTE: Up to 3 hours of FREE parking is available with validation in the Central Library Garage)

          RECOSA Board Election

          Reminder! The 2025-2026 RECOSA Board Election is underway.

          The board has five (5) open director positions for the two-year term, Jan. 1, 2025 – Dec. 31, 2026. A nominating committee solicited statements of interest from members Aug. 1, 2024 – Sep. 15, 2024. As a result, the nominating committee received five (5) nominees and is recommending all five (5) nominees as the list of candidates.

          If you haven’t already voted, you can do so by clicking this link by Oct. 31.


          2024 Charitable Campaign

          The City of San Antonio’s Annual Charitable Campaign is currently underway and runs through Oct. 31. Remember, you can designate your donation to the organization of choice. A list of those organizations is attached below. Please consider donating to this worthwhile cause by clicking this link.
